2010 Canadian International Auto Show

The Canadian International Auto Show is one of the most magnificent shows in Canada, where one can see, share and experience new content and features like never before. It is a major tourist attraction and is extremely popular in Ontario especially to car enthusiasts. Worldwide exhibitors will showcase over thousand cars and trucks including concept cars, classics, motor cycles, auto equipments and alternative energy vehicles. The event is hosted by the Canadian International Auto Show and supported by the Toronto Automobile Dealers Foundation.

The Canadian International Auto Show is North America's only officially endorsed international auto show after Detroit. The show is unique in the world and "out of the ordinary" based on the integration of design, classic cars, automotive art, and sport compacts into a "total automotive experience".

The Canadian International Auto Show kicked off last February 12th and will run through February 21st at the North and South Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It features a variety of activities and expos for visitors to enjoy. Car enthusiast will be able to attend and enjoy, such as the Cruise Nationals, Shelby Showcase, Subaru Sweepstakes, Centre Stage, and for the younger visitors, there will be a Volkswagen Children’s Play Care Centre. Over and above the cars and entertainment, there will also be contests and give-aways throughout the show.

Here are some useful hints to enjoy the show:
1.)Wear comfy shoes. Stilettos or high-heeled boots are strongly discouraged. I know they look cute, but trust me; your feet will appreciate a pair of running shoes after a long day of walking the show floor.
2.)For those dragged in by a loved one: grin and bear it. Let's face it - not everyone likes car shows: the crowds, the cars and the walking. But keep smiling. No sour faces allowed. Whether it's your other half or a child or friend who's into cars, obviously they want you there. So, enjoy it. Smile. Laugh. Ask a few questions along the way to suggest some interest such as "what's under the hood of that car?" or "what's new with this car?" Be sure to listen and be patient when they explain in detail how the latest model is better than last year's model.
3.)Organize yourself. Map out a plan. If there's something that interests you or your friends or family, check it out first. If something catches your attention, check it out when you arrive while you're still energized - it might invoke up some excitement along the way. And remember, you won't just see average, boring old daily drivers. There are some cool concepts and funky all-electric vehicles and hybrids that are sure to spark some interest.
4.)Drink. I know you may be tempted, but I don't mean alcohol. Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. You'll be covering a lot of ground - stay fresh and focused. Bring some snacks, too, especially if you have kids.
5.)Take a break. If your kids had too much candy - take a break and step outside for a breath of fresh air. If you need to leave the kids and go solo for a while, go to the Volkswagen Children's Play care Centre.
6.)Mingle with the stars. Car shows often attract big celebrities. At this year's show, the 2009 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Alex Tagliani will be on hand signing autographs for fans. It’s going to be on the last weekend of the show: Saturday (February 20th) and Sunday (February 21st).
7.)If you miss the stars, you can still see some famous, fabulous rides, including a multi-million-dollar collection of classics from automotive legend Carroll Shelby. More than 40 of Shelby's creations will be on hand,
8.)Avoid the crowds. If you hate crowds, skip the opening weekend. Leave work early during the week and head to the show when the crowds aren't as big. It'll be a lot easier to manoeuvre around the show.
9.)Save some cash. At $20 for an adult ticket, going to the auto show can be expensive - especially if you have a family. Buy your tickets online and you'll save 10%. There are also other savings options, like family and day passes.

Remember, it's not simply the best of what is. It’s the best of what’s to come. Check out The Canadian International Auto Show 2010 from February 12th to 21st 2010 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
